Will there be a forum?

We have not planed of integration a forum. This has to do with the included work, which has to be done for a forum as well as the needed data collection for it

Why does this web site not remember my settings?

This is one of the disadvanages of the not using cookies, so if you connect to our website all settings are back to default.

Why do you want to build the facilities ona shipp, wouldn‘t building them on lan cheaper?

If you just compare the cost of one facility it would be cheaper. But you need to calculate all including works and needed facilities. Let us say, as an example, the factory which is converting the plastics would be build on an island. As a result you would need a fleet of ships to gather the plastics out of the sea and to transport the material to the factory. Building everthing an a special industrial ship might be more expensve at the start but is cheaper on the long run.

There are a lot of other projects which like to gather the plastics out of the sea by using large nets. Is this not sufficient?

No it isn‘t, at least not by our opion. Independent from the problem that not one of the implemented project has worked the way it was planed, collecting the plastic is only a part of solving the problem. What would you do with the collectd plastics? Depostite it, burn it or sell it international? How much of the collected plastics will than get back into the sea?

Why did you not choose a charity organisation after German law? (gemeinützig)?

We talked with the tax office over the last 2 months and would like to thank for the help and the information we got from them. We had to choose to either need to pay less taxes but than not to be able to help in some ways, or at least not so easy or to raise a registered association without tax release but with much more ways to help. The legal uncertainless which is tax free, which is non commercial, which is commercial and which is commercial not allowed for a charity organisation were to large from our point of view.

I would like to support project X but not project y. Is this possible?

Yes and no. If you inform us with the money transfer (donation or membeship fee) that you would like to support project x we will try to follow your wishes. So if enough people transfer funds with the indication that they would like to support projects x and the calculated needed money for project x is reached we would start project x even though project y has a higher priority. But if not enough money can be collected with the indecation of project x and the neede money for project y is reached, we would start project y.
